I have wanted to write as long as I can remember, but the idea of writing historical fiction first began to germinate within me when I was in college. I was a history major at Trinity College when the realization struck; most historical books are incredibly boring. Scholars (college professors) take years examining some minute piece of a historical even, and then write hundreds of pages packed with factual information, stripping away the flesh to get to the bare bones of their analysis. But it is this meaty part of history that is the good stuff. As a history major, history teacher, and parent, I have come to realize that many people think history is boring. This is not in the slightest bit true. History is filled with incredibly fascinating events and people, but scholars, text books, and teachers have stolen the exciting parts to give the false impression that it is boring. It is my intent to present factual historical information in the electrifying manner it occurred to a wide ranging population of people instead of just a few scholars and their students.
